Eligibility Criteria

Following the declaration of NEET results, candidates must qualify the prescribed cut-off set by the NTA to become eligible for the counselling process. The minimum qualifying percentile is as follows:

  • General – 50th percentile;
  • OBC/SC/ST – 40th percentile;
  • General (PwD) – 45th percentile;
  • OBC/SC/ST (PwD) – 40th percentile
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are required to register for NEET counselling, participate in the counselling process, and secure admission to medical institutions based on merit and seat availability.

Admission Process

MBBS admissions in West Bengal are conducted by the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal, based on NEET scores. The application process generally begins in June each year.

Candidates must qualify NEET by securing the required cut-off percentile and register online for counselling. After registration, candidates undergo document verification, followed by the release of the merit list. The admission process then includes choice filling, seat allotment, and confirmation of admission. Counselling is conducted online in multiple rounds, including a mop-up round if required.
